NEW ORLEANS, La. – Alcorn Men's Tennis student-athlete
Sebastian Griffiths has been named to the All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Second Team for No. 1 singles announced Thursday evening in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Sebastian Griffiths, a freshman from Neath, Wales, played in 13 matches for the Braves across the spring season with all of those matches occurring at the top flight singles spot in the lineup.
The graduate of Dwr Y Felin Comprehensive School turned in a 2-11 overall mark in the No. 1 singles spot, adding a win alongside teammate
Matthew Holl at No. 2 doubles as well. Against SWAC opposition, Griffiths finished the campaign 1-1, respectfully.
Griffiths defeated Southern University's Lwazi Ngwenya in straight sets back in March, while having a total of seven singles matches go unfinished due to a team result already having been established in the match.
Alcorn Men's Tennis earned the No. 5 seed in the SWAC Tennis Championships, as the Braves will face No. 3 seed Jackson State at City Park Tennis Center on Friday, April 17, at 5 p.m.
