VICKSBURG, Miss. –
Fabian Juarez, the lone senior for Alcorn Men's Tennis, was honored after the match Thursday afternoon as the Braves took down visiting Mississippi Valley State 5-0 at Halls Ferry Tennis Courts in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
With the win, the Braves snap a 15-match losing skid, and in the process defeat their first Division I opponent of the 2026 sporing campaign. Mississippi Valley State (0-11, 0-5 SWAC) remains winless on the season.
Alcorn (4-17, 1-3 SWAC) wasted no time asserting control, winning doubles points in positions No. 2 and No. 3, respectfully.
Tomas Grime and
Jorge Prats Navarrete teamed up to dispatch Mississippi Valley State's duo of Malachi Finley and Ezekial Smoot 6-0, while
Fabian Juarez and
Sebastian Griffiths handled Blessed Kutyauripo and Luka Sari by the same score.
In singles play, Alcorn's
Vicent Llobell Buigues, Grime, Navarrete and Juarez each posted dominant 6-0, 6-0 victories at positions three through six, respectively.

Matthew Holl (Alcorn) vs. Sibusico Dube (MVSU) were left unfinished after the team result was decided.
The Purple and Gold conclude the regular season Saturday, April 11, traveling to in-state foe Jackson State for a SWAC match in Jackson, Mississippi. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
