LORMAN, Miss. – Eric Thomas Jr. and Demetrion Duvall of Alcorn Football have been named to the BOXTOROW HBCU Preseason All-America Team announced Monday, August 10.
 
This is the 20th season that BOXTOROW has produced The HBCU college football Preseason All-America team and the team is selected by media members who cover HBCU football.
 
Eric Thomas Jr., a 6-foot-3, 245-pound junior from Columbus, Mississippi, finished the 2025 campaign with 26 total tackles (14 solo) in 12 games for the Braves. The defensive lineman added a team fourth-highest 6.5 tackles for loss, as well as finishing second on the team in quarterback sacks (4.0). He also had four quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery.
 
In total, 15 programs are represented of the 30 selections. BOXTOROW has produced The HBCU All-America teams since 2007.
 
Demetrion Duvall, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound junior from Akron, Ohio, served as the Braves punter for 2025, ending the year with a SWAC second-highest 49 kicks for 2,093 yards, averaging 42.7 yards per punt. He had a career-long 63-yard kick against Florida A&M, in addition to placing 14 kicks inside the 20-yard line. In total, he tallied 13 punts of 50 yards or better – tied for second-most in the league in that category.
 
Alabama State quarter Andrew Body was named the preseason quarterback after finishing 2025 as the BOXTOROW National HBCU Offensive Player of the Year, respectfully.
 
Additionally, South Carolina State was picked to repeat as national champions by members of the working media.
 
Alcorn begins the season Saturday, Aug. 29, as the Braves welcome Miles to Jack Spinks – Marino Casem Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
