MISSION:
To maintain institutional control of Intercollegiate Athletics and protect the integrity of Alcorn State University by fostering a strong culture of compliance through comprehensive educational programming.


INSTITUTIONAL CONTROL:
The institution's responsibility for the conduct of its intercollegiate athletics program includes responsibility for the actions of its faculty, staff members and for the actions of any other individual or organization engaged in activities promoting the athletics interests of the institution.



YOU ARE AN ALCORN STATE BOOSTER IF YOU:
  • Are a member of an organization that supports Alcorn athletics, Department,

AS AN ALCORN STATE BOOSTER, NCAA RULES PROHIBIT YOU FROM:
A prospect is any student who has begun classes for the 9th grade, any student younger than 9th grade who has received any benefit from an institution or an athletics booster, or students enrolled in preparatory school or any two-year college. Boosters should NEVER contact a prospect or their family to encourage him or her to attend Alcorn or to discuss Alcorn in any manner. This includes contact initiated online via social media. An extra benefit is any arrangement to provide a gift, money or benefit that is not available to the general public or to all students. This includes free or reduced cost services, meals, lodging, transportation, a loan or line of credit or entertainment.You can hire a current student- athlete for a bona fide employment opportunity in which he or she will be paid the going rate for hours and work actually performed. You cannot, however, use a student athlete's name, picture or reputation to promote a commercial establishment in any way.
