Center Jamie Floyd of the Southern University Lady Jags led all scorers with 20 points as they beat the Lady Braves 52-46 in SWAC action Saturday at Alcorn State.
The Lady Jaguars increased their record to 11-8 overall and 8-1 in the SWAC. The Lady Braves dropped to 5-4 in SWAC play and to 6-12 overall.
The Lady Braves had three in double figures as Kiara Ruffin tallied 16, Renelle Richmond 15 and Carolinsia Crumbly 10. The Lady Braves was only four for 23 from the field in the last half which accounted for the loss.
Besides Floyds' 20, Hannah Kador scored 12 and Freda Allen 11. Allen led the Lady Jaguars with 9 rebounds while Ruffin led both teams with 10.
The Lady Braves will host The Lady Tigers of Jackson State Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Davey Whitney Athletic Complex at 2:30PM.
