Braves Lose to Alabama A&M

Alabama A&M forward Bo Amusa caught an inbounds pass with 6.6 seconds left, scoring from underneath and then making a free throw after being fouled on the play with 6.3 seconds left, and the Bulldogs capped off a four point deficit with 33 seconds to play to nip Alcorn State 70-68 Saturday evening in Alcorn State, Ms. The Braves led by as many as 15 points in the first half and by as many as 11 in the last half. A&M led by four with 3:54 left in the game, but crucial baskets by Michael Martin and Ian Francis, off the bench, saw ASU leading 68-67 with seven seconds remaining. Francis’ two free throws gave ASU that lead with seven seconds left. The win upped A&M’s record overall to 11-11 and to 8-5 in the SWAC. The Braves fell to 3-21 overall and 3-11 in the SWAC. The Braves host Alabama State Monday at 7:30 PM.
