JSU's Marshun Hall pitched the last two innings to win the first game, taking over for Desmond Russell who went eight innings striking out seven but walking five. ASU's
Alvin Jackson tied it up in the bottom of the eighth on a two run homer, he's from Hollandale also, but the Braves missed several chances to score later, setting the stage for Curtis' decisive blow in the tenth. The Tigers led 3-0 after the first two innings of game two, and coasted on to victory. They sent eleven men to the plate in the fourth inning setting the stage for Logan's blast. They added four more in the top of the sixth when Charles Epperson singled in Curtis and Russell who both had earlier singled and driven in a run apiece.
The Braves were playing without and will be without first baseman Rodney Warren for the rest of the season as he is scheduled to have surgery on a sustained injury next week.
The Braves will go on the road to face Louisiana Lafayette Tuesday in Lafayette then meet Tulane Wednesday in New Orleans, La.
