The Lady Braves were handed their first SWAC loss at the hands of Grambling State.
The Lady Tigers got on the boards early with a lay-up by Wymeka Randle. Alcorn State took the lead at the 15:50 mark with a lay-up by Carolinsia Crumbly. Grambling State re-captured the lead and maintained it up to the 13:32 minute mark when Alcorn State's Frost gave them a one point lead.
The Lady Braves lead was short-lived as the Lady Tigers' Ceazer banked a shot to give Grambling a one-point lead. Grambling continue on their scoring streak and maintained a seven point half time lead, 22-15.
Grambling State started the second half strong pushing their lead up to eleven early on. Alcorn State battled back as Carolinsia Crumbly defensive and scoring prowess gave the Lady Braves a one-point lead. Grambling and Alcorn went back and forth trading the lead before the Lady Tigers' pulled away with a lay-up by Savannah Carter.
The Lady Braves missed shots and fouls plagued them as Grambling State defeated Alcorn, 55-44.
Alcorn State shot 23.7% from field goal range while hitting 15 of 22 (68.2 %) at the free throw line.
Carolinsia Crumbly led all scorers with 14 points.
