Braves Lose to Santa Clara 70-58

Box Score Santa Clara, CA-Marquis Baker returned to the court for the first time since Nov. 25 of last year.  Baker scored 23 points in his return but the Braves weren't able to get the victory losing to Santa Clara 70-58 at the Cable Car Classic.
 
Only down 31-26 at the half, the Braves once again went blank in the second half.  The Broncos started a 14-0 run with a pair of free throws by forward Raymond Cowels. The Braves couldn't get into a rhythm to close the gap as they found themselves down as many as 21 points.
 
Anthony Nieves hit a couple of free throws to cut the lead to 11 with 1:30 left to play but it was too late.
 
Nieves finished with 11 points.  Leantwan Luckett also scored 11 points for the Braves
 
Broncos senior Marc Transolini led all scorere with 24 points and 11 rebounds.  Brandon Clark was the other Bronco in double-figures chipping in 11 points for the Broncos
 
Luther Riley and the Braves (2-9) face legendary coach Larry Brown and his SMU Mustangs in the consolation game tonight.  Tip-off is at 8:00 p.m. CT
