Alcorn State, MS—Alcorn State advanced to the SWAC Championship game with a 67-41 win over Grambling. The team came out strong in the first half hitting key shots and playing outstanding defense. The Lady Braves led at the half with a score of 33-15. The second half provided more action as Alcorn State pushed their lead up to 30 points.
Kiara Ruffin led all scorers with 15 points. An-Juvan Andrews added 10 points in the Lady Braves' victory over Grambling.
“The credit goes to the young ladies for coming out and playing hard for 40 minutes,” said Head Coach
Tonya Edwards.
The Lady Braves' bench contributed 22 points while shooting 65.4% from the free throw line. Alcorn State will face the winner of Prairie View/Mississippi Valley tomorrow at 5 PM. Fans can listen live to WPRL 91.7 FM or watch on ESPNU.
