Baton Rouge, LA--The Braves defeated the Grambling Tigers in the opening round of the 2012 SWAC Baseball Tournament by a score of 6-2.
After three scoreless innings, Grambling opened up a 1-0 lead with Jones scoring off a sacrifice fly by Farmer.  The Tigers increased their lead to 2-0 as Wolfe singled to centerfield and scored Knuckles. 
The Braves made it a 2-1 game when 
Christian Hickman scored off Devin Dukes' ground out to Wolfe. 
Alcorn opened up a three run inning in the bottom of the sixth with Rodney Warren, 
Christian Hickman and Gabriel Lebron scoring to give Alcorn a 4-2 lead.
The Braves held the Tigers scoreless for the next three innings, but Alcorn managed to squeeze out two more runs to defeat Grambling, 6-2.
Steve Easter is credited with the win and Bautista recorded the loss for Grambling.
Alcorn State will face the winner of the Valley/Southern game at 3 pm tomorrow.
