Tierro Frost scored a game-high 20 points for the Lady Braves but it wasn't enough tonight against Central Arkansas. The Lady Braves allowed 40 first half points and picked up their first loss of the season to the Sugabears 71-38.
Courtney Duever scored the first four points and Terai Sadler hit a 3-pointer to go ahead 7-0 early in the first half. Frost nailed a 3-pointer for to put the Lady Braves on the scoreboard at 15:47 mark to make the score 7-3.
The Sugarbears would go on a 19-0 run to open their lead to 26-3 over the next six minutes of the game.
Angelica Wilson-Reid made a layup to stop the Sugarbears run giving the Sugarbears a 26-5 lead with 5:54 to play before the half.
Shortly after the Lady Braves stopped Central Arkansas's run, both teams traded a few baskets before the half with the Sugarbears leading 40-15.
Central Arkansas continued their dominance in the second half over the Lady Braves starting off with a 14-5 run. From there the Lady Braves couldn't get into a rhythm on offense to score any points.
Angelica Wilson-Reid was second in scoring tonight for the Lady Braves with six points and nine rebounds.
Micah Rice led Central Arkansas with 14 points while Duever and Briana Mullins scored 12 and 13 points respectively.
The Lady Braves return home for their home opener on Sunday as they host Nebraska-Omaha. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.
