LeAntwan Luckett went 6-of-14 from the field and 8-of-12 from the free throw line to lead the Braves with 20 points but it wasn't enough to knock off Denver on day one of the Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational. The Braves missed 14 free throws en route to their eighth straight loss to the Pioneers 67-49.
Denver went on a 19-0 run to separate themselves from the Braves with a 33-10 lead at the 5:39 mark.
The Braves came out of the locker room and went on a 12-6 run shooting 6-of-6 from the field to get the lead down to 11 points, 55-44 with 5:31 left in the game.
But Denver closed out the game outscoring the Braves 12-5 to capture the win.
The Braves wrap up the their weekend in the Sun Bowl Invitational against Western Illinois tonight at 6:00 p.m.
