Box Score Lorman, Miss.- Tonight the Lady Braves welcomed the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A&M at the Whitney Complex. The Lady Braves went cold for from the field for almost nine minutes in the second half and picked up their 10th straight lost, 55-44.
Alabama A&M jumped out to an early 5-0 lead on couple of layups by Brittney Strickland and NaDra Robertson with only .51 seconds in the game.
The Lady Braves quickly answered and tied the game at 5-5 when junior Tierra Frost made one of two free throws.
A few seconds later, Frost stole the ball again and connected on a layup to give the Lady Braves their first lead of the game 7-5 with 15:43 to play in the first half.
Both teams traded baskets up until the break when A&M's Christyn Hopper nailed a three-pointer to give the Lady Bulldogs a three-point lead at the half, 25-22.
After the half, both teams continued to exchange leads until Alcorn's
Au-Juvan Andrews made a layup with 13:25 to play to give the Lady Braves a four-point lead. A&M's Jasmine Sanders tied the game once again at the 10:39 mark at 37-37.
Shortly after Sanders jumper, A&M's Taylor Sippial nailed a three-pointer from downtown to retake the lead for the Lady Bulldogs 40-37 and the Lady Bulldogs took charge from there.
The Lady Braves did manage to cut the lead to 45-42 with 3:01 to play in the game on a made layup by senior forward
Renelle Richmond but it wasn't enought to sustain the Lady Bulldogs.
Richmond was the only Lady Brave to score in double figures with 13 points.
Alabama A&M was led by Nadra Robertson with 13 points. Jasmine Sanders recorde a double-double scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
The Lady Braves (1-22, 1-13) are back in action Monday night as they host Alabama State for their home finale. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
