Box Score Lorman, Miss.-After a devastating loss to rival Jackson State Saturday, the Alcorn State men's basketball team looked to redeem themselves tonight agasint Grambling. The Braves did just that by thumping the Tigers, 78-53 to pick up their seventh conference win of the season.
Grambling's Terry Rose struck first for the Tigers knocking down a long three-pointer to open up the game 3-0 with a minute into the first half. Grambling's 3-0 lead would be the only lead the Tigers held for the rest of the game.
The Braves went on a 28-3 run to build a 28-6 lead with 5:34 left in the first half. David Copeland stopped the bleeding with a layup to make the score 28-8.

Marquiz Baker nailed a three-pointer to push the lead back to 20 and 20 seconds later
Anthony Nieves connected on a slam dunk to give the Braves their largest lead of the first 40-17 with 1:22 left in the first half.
The Braves took a 41-19 halftime lead into the locker room.
In the second half, the Braves continued to put the Tigers out of reach. The closest Grambling would get was 14 points on a layup by Terry Rose to make the score 47-33.
Freshman
Devonte Hampton connected on a three-pointer to extend the Braves lead to 16, 55-9 with 10:04 to play. Freshman
Jamaal Hester closed the game out with a layup at the 5:47 mark to give the Braves a 68-46 lead.
The Braves shot 80 percent from the free throw line compared to Saturday's horrific free thwro shooting affair. The Braves also scored 21 points off the Tigers turnovers.
Four players scored in double figures for the Braves with
LeAntwan Luckett leading the way with 14 points. Hampton and Nieves scored 13 points a piece. Baker added 11 points for the Braves.
Grambling was led by Roses' game-high 20 points. David Copeland and Demetri Wheeler chipped in 13 and 10 points apiece.
The Braves travel to Itta Bena, MS to face Mississippi Valley this Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled to begin immediately following the women's game at 5:30 p.m.
