Braves Late Push Not Enough Against Alabama

Box Score Tuscaloosa, Ala.-The Alcorn State Baseball lost a nail-biter last night to No. 22-ranked Alabama at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.  The Braves fought back in the ninth inning but wasn't able to pick up the tying run and the Crimson Tide defeated the Braves 3-2.

Alabama scored first with a RBI single to left field to go ahead early 1-0.

The Braves would tie the game at 1-1 a piece in the top of the sixth inning on a RBI double by Jordan Boston scoring Angel Rosa.

But the Crimson Tide came back in the same inning and scored two runs in the bottom half on two of the Braves three errors to retake the lead 3-1.

In the top of the ninth inning, the Braves cut the lead to 3-2 on a scored run by Dominique Griffith while Alvin Jackson got picked off stealing to second base.  Ryan Akins struck out to end the game.

The Braves face Alabama again today at 6:05 p.m.
