Lady Braves Continue to Streak, Defeat Alabama A&M 63-60

Box Score LORMAN - Tierro Frost scored a game-high 20 points as the Lady Braves pick up their 3rd consecutive victory tonight against Alabama A&M, 63-60 at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

The Lady Braves went scoreless in the first three minutes of the first half and falling behind 7-0 early. Tierro Frost finally stop the run on a layup to put the Lady Braves on the board.

Alabama A&M opened their lead up to 10 points with 12:36 to play before the half on a jumper by Taylor Sippial.

But the Lady Braves went on a 17-4 run led by T. Frost with another jumper to tie the game at 20-20. Seconds later, Angelica Wilson-Reid connected on a three-point play to give the Lady Braves their first lead of the game 23-20 with less than five minutes to go before the half.

Alabama A&M's Brittney Strickland scored four straight points to regain the lead for the Lady Bulldogs, 23-24 at the 3:41 mark of the first half.

Towards the end of the first half, the Lady Braves close out with 6-1 run and went into the locker room with a slight 29-25 lead.

In the second half, the Lady Braves continued to take it to the Lady Bulldogs and found themselves ahead by as many as nine points when Wilson-Reid made a layup to extend the lead to 41-32 with 12:57 to play.

Alabama A&M kept on closing the gap led by B. Strickland and Jasmine Sanders 11 second half points. Sanders gave the Lady Bulldogs their first lead since the 1:11 in the first half on a pair of free throws.

The Lady Braves made 3-of-5 free throws and played solid defense in the final minutes of the game.

The Lady Braves scored 30 points off the bench. Neither team hit a three-pointer tonight.

Wilson-Reid was the second Lady Braves in double-figures with 12 points.

A&M's B. Strickland led the way for the Lady Brulldogs with 20 points. Sanders and Tippial had 15 and 14 points, respectively.

The Lady Braves hit the road for a four-game road trip beginning Saturday at Southern. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
