Lady Braves Fall to Belhaven in Four Sets, 3-1

Box Score The Alcorn State Lady Braves Volleyball team lost to Belhaven University tonight 3-1 at Rugg Arena in Jackson, Miss.

After taking the first set 25-17, the Lady Braves just couldn't get back in a rhythm dropping the next three sets 25-14, 25-20, and 25-12.

Erica Caddell and Lurlethia Jones each had six kills tonight.  Sophomore Sydney Mellom collected 20 assists while senior Vanessa Ortega totaled 19 digs.

The Lady Braves open up SWAC East play Friday at the Whitney complex as they host Alabama State.  Game time is set for 6 p.m.
