The Lady Braves kept the game close throughout and sent the game to overtime this afternoon against the visiting Rajun Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette. Louisiana outscored the Lady Braves 10-3 in the overtime period to pick up the road win 64-57.
After trailing 32-24 at the half, the Lady Braves inched themselves back in the game.
With 8:16 left in the 2nd half,
Shaqueria Dubose made a layup to cut the lead to 43-40.
Olivia Brown nailed a three-pointer to make the score 45-43 at the 6:19 mark.
The Lady Rajun Cajuns extended their slight lead to 50-43 on a jumper by Jodi Quinn with 5:38 left.
Cienna Rodriguez push the lead to 54-44 with just over three minutes to play.
Later on in the half,
Norianna Haynes went to work making two free throws to put the Lady Braves within four points, 54-50.
Seconds later,
Henrietta Wells made one-of-two free throws making the score 54-51.
Haynes rolled off a screen and nailed a three-pointer to tie the game at 54-54 with .17 seconds left. He basket sent the game into overtime.
The Lady Braves weren't able to put anything in the basket in overtime which led to their seventh loss of the season.
Haynes finished the game with a game 25 points.
The Lady Braves return to action on December 28th when they travel to Texas to face UTEP.
