Tonya Edwards and the Lady Braves basketball team defeat Louisiana-Monroe for their first victory of the season, 62-53.
Both teams traded baskets throughout the entire first half up until the 4:10 mark.Â
Olivia Brown made a layup on an assist by Shaqueria Brown to give the Lady Braves thier largest lead of the first half, 24-17.
But ULM finished the half on a 9-0 run to take a 26-24 lead at the half.
After the break, both teams were tick for tack all the way to the 7:19 mark whenÂ
Olivia Brown hit
Jazmin Strane for three-pointer to give the Braves a 41-36.
The Lady Braves maintained a comfortable lead for the rest of the way and came out with their first win of the 2014-15 season.
Strane and Brown each scored 13 points to lead the Lady Braves.Â
Norianna Haynes scored 11 points in her first action this season while
Jasmine Cunningham chipped in 10 points.
The Lady Braves (1-5) return to action on Dec. 16 when they travel to East Lansing, Mich. to face Michigan State.
