Braves Drop Game Three to Alabama State 12-1, Lose the Series 2-1

Box Score LORMAN - After splitting the double-header yesterday, the Braves returned to McGowan Stadium this afternoon with high hopes of taking the weekend series from the number one team in the SWAC, Alabama State.  The Braves were unsuccessful losing in 10 innings to the Hornets, 12-1.

The Hornets jumped on top of the Braves in the first inning on an single to make the score 1-0.

The Hornets struck again in the top of the fourth on an error by the Braves to increase their lead to 3-0.

In the fifth inning, the Braves allowed the Hornets to score nine runs and take a commanding 12-0 lead.

Hitless and scoreless through the fourth inning the until Christian Hickman got on base on a single through the shortstop and third base gap.  Moses Charles stepped up to the plate next and hit a RBI single to make the score 12-1.  That run would be the only run scored by the Braves this afternoon as they move to 6-11 in conference play and 6-31 overall.

Up next for the Braves is a trip to Starkville, MS to face the runner-ups from last year's National Championship game, Mississippi State.  First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m.
