PRINCETON, N.J. – The Alcorn State Men's Basketball team will participate in the 20th annual 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project, culminating with the Championship Rounds at Madison Square Garden from November 20-21.
Headlining the event are
Syracuse,
Texas,
California, and
Iowa, each of which will play a pair
of home games before advancing to Madison Square Garden. These four teams have combined for 109 NCAA Tournament appearances.
TICKET INFORMATION: Tickets for Championship Round games of the 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project at Madison Square Garden are on sale and may be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 866-448-7849 or through Ticketmaster.com.
Joining the four host teams are North Dakota State,
Alcorn State, Hampton, and Kennesaw State. These teams will play two Regional Round games prior to traveling to North Dakota State for Sub-regional Round action.
ESPN Networks will televise six games of the 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project, including all four Championship Round games from Madison Square Garden. The semifinal doubleheader on Thursday, November 20 will see Texas play Iowa in a 7:00 p.m. (ET) tip, followed by Syracuse facing California. Both semifinal match-ups will air live on ESPN2. The semi-final round winners will meet on Friday, November 21 for the 2K Classic championship on ESPN2, preceded by the consolation game at 5:00 p.m. (ET), on either ESPN2 or ESPN-U.
In addition, ESPN-U will air the November 16 game between Hampton and Syracuse at 4:00pm (ET), as well as the Alcorn State-Texas match-up at 8:00pm (ET). Additional television information will be announced at a later date. In last year's 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project, Connecticut won its two Championship Round games by a combined three points, including a 59-58 win over Indiana in the title game en route to winning its fourth National Championship.
