CONWAY, Ark - Central Arkansas defeated Alcorn State, 58-35, Tuesday evening at the Farris Center, in Conway, Arkansas.

Alcorn's BRIANNA TOLLIVER, paced the team scoring ten points.

Defensively HENRIETTA WELLS tallied three blocks, while NORIANNA HAYNES recorded eight defensive rebounds. Haynes had a team high ten rebounds. For the first time this season, Haynes was held under double-digit scoring.

"NORIANNA HAYNES just couldn't get it going. She's our leader and as she goes we go," said Head Coach Courtney Pruitt.

UCA's Maggie Proffitt had a game 18 points for the Bears.

The Lady Braves struggled from the field shooting 28.6% and committing 19 turnovers. The bench was outscored 17-2 and second chance points 11-2.

"We had a tough time scoring & rebounding tonight but we'll have to use this experience to get better and be ready to play Jacksonville State December 1st," said Coach Pruitt.

Alcorn State defense' held the Bears to 37% shooting from the field.

Coach Pruitt stated "I was proud of our defensive effort. But you can only hold a team that likes to hold the ball for so long."
The Lady Braves will have a week off, before getting back on the hardwood, on the road to face Ohio Valley Conference foe Jacksonville State, in Jacksonville, Alabama.
