Vance Records Career-High, Braves End Five-Game Losing Skid

Box Score In a much needed game, the Braves came out tonight ready to play the Tigers of Grambling State.  Sophomore Marquis Vance notched a career-high 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Braves past Grambling 91-77 at the Whitney Complex.

Grambling came out firing away from behind the arc in the first .50 seconds to go ahead 3-0.

Tyrel Hunt got the Braves going scoring their first basket of the game to make the score 3-2.

LeAntwan Luckett scored seven of the Braves next 12 points and knocked down a long three-pointer to give the Braves a 15-11 lead.

Vance went to work from there for the Braves connecting from the free throw line on a basket and one to push the Braves lead to 19-12.

Tonight was one of those nights for the Braves led by Vance.  He shot 10-of-15 (.66%) from the field including 4-for-6 from three-point range.  As a team, the Braves shot 53.7% from the field and 74.2% from the charity stripe.

Hunt finished the game with 15 points while Luckett added 12 points.

The Braves hope to keep their streak alive this weekend when they make their way to the Mississippi Delta for a matchup against Mississippi Valley.  Tip-off is slated for 5:00 p.m. following the women's game.
