The Braves came in today's game 2-0 against SWAC west before facing Prairie View A&M this afternoon. The Braves took game one of three-game weekend series 7-2 before falling in game two 9-8.
Game 1: Braves 7, Prairie View 2The Braves collected three homeruns to pick up their 11th win of the season in game one of the weekend series against Prairie View A&M. After a scoreless first inning, the Braves bats got to work in the top of second inning.
Walter Vives led off the second inning with a homerun to give the Braves a 1-0 advantage.
Cedric Walker singled to the right side and collected a RBI which allowed
Earl Burl III to bring him home on a two-run homerun to center field (3-0 Braves).
Jordan Boston drove in Colton Carroll to give the Braves a 5-0 lead at the end of the second inning.
The Braves wouldn't score again until the top of the seventh inning.
Scotty Peavey led off the inning with a homerun.
Carroll would double down the left field line followed by
Moses Charles doubld down the right field line to score Carroll.
The Panthers only scored runs in the bottom of the fourth and eighth innings.
Colton Laird picked up the win and another complete game with six strikeouts.
Game 2: Prairie View A&M 9, Braves 8The Braves struck first with a three-run shot to left field by Carroll to give the Braves an early 3-0.
But the Panthers bounced back with two runs in the first and one run in the second inning to tie the game at 3-3 a piece.
Peavey homered again for the second time today in the top of third inning to give the Braves a slight 4-3 lead.
The Panthers came away with three runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 6-4 lead.
Carroll one of the Braves two runs in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game at 6-6.
In the top of the seventh inning, the Braves regained the lead. Carroll hit his third homerun of the game to cut give the Braves their first lead since the first inning.
Moses Charles collected a RBI on a single up the middle to score Boston from second base.
One run scored in the bottom of the seventh and a homerun in the bottom of the eighth inning put the Panthers back on top to hold on for the win in game two.
The Braves and Panthers thrilling weekndes series concludes tomorrow at noon.
