Houston- Alcorn State dropped their season opener to Houston Baptist, 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-13), Friday night in the second match of the Marriott Houston Westchase Invitational.

"I believe the team did well for the first game, we need to be more consistent, and adjust to the situation," said Head Coach Jarquita Copeland

Freshman KALEE MARICLE, recorded a team high five kills in her first collegiate action.  

"She started a little nervous, but as the game went on she started to play smart ball," said Coach Copeland

Alcorn State returns to the court for double action on Saturday. The Lady Braves will face Louisiana Tech at 12 P.M. and at 4 P.M. Alcorn State will face the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley to conclude tournament play at the Marriott Houston Westchase Invitational.
