Alcorn answered right back scoring seven straight in a minute of play to tie the score 19 all.
MVSU reversed the favor and went on a 19-7 run, to take a 40-27 lead and the momentum into intermission.

A second chance lay-up for Octavious Brown started the comeback for the Braves. Alcorn State went on a 12-0 run in the span of five minutes.
Alcorn cut the deficit to one on a jumper by Brown, in the paint, with 9 minutes remaining in regulation.
In the final five minutes, the game tied three times, and saw the lead change hands five times. Mississippi Valley tied the game with a pair of free throws with 23 ticks remaining on the clock.
The second half ended with a turnover and a bizarre play. Alcorn State trying to get the last shot of the game, turned over with five seconds left, the Delta Devils, had a chance to win the game on a lay-up but, the player not aware of the game situation turned around and let the half end in a tie.
No one took control in the first two overtimes, but the third was a different tale.
Rahamanh Katumbusi opened the extra period with a bang, hitting a shot from beyond the arc, five seconds into the third overtime. De'Andre Davis answered right back with three points the old fashion way. Davis scored on a layup and was fouled in the process, making his free throw, to extend the lead to six points.
Mississippi Valley would cut the lead to two points, but the Braves hit all their free throws to take game one of their two game road swing.
Brown recorded his second double-double in conference play, scoring 27-points and recording 11 rebounds, while TAMARCIO WILSON scored 20 points to lead the way for the Braves. Marquise Vance and PATRICK ONWENU each added 13-points.
Alcorn State will head to the University of Arkansas Pine-Bluff, for a Monday night match against the Golden Lions.
