Lady Braves cruised pass Alabama A&M

LORMAN, Miss - Alcorn State University (2-4, 3-13) started the game on a 13-2 run and never looked back in their victory over the Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs Saturday afternoon.
 
Alcorn State's HENRIETTA WELLS had a career night versus the Lady Bulldogs with a season/career high 8 blocks. If she was not blocking shots, she was forcing the defender to take shots they did not want to take. Wells also grabbed 13 rebounds for the Lady Braves.
 
NORIANNA HAYNES came off the bench to lead Alcorn with 20 points and tallied seven rebounds.
 
The Lady Braves outrebounded the Lady Bulldogs 61-38.
 
ASHTIN MCNICHOLS scored 15 points, TALISA SHERMAN scored 12 points, and BRIANNA TOLLIVERs scored 6 points.
 
Haynes continues to be the league scoring leader by averaging 21.1 points per game and 23.9 in conference play, despite being double and triple teamed at times. Haynes has also came off the bench the last three games.
 
Wells recorded 31 blocks in the last seven conference game.
 
Alcorn State will face the Lady Hornets of Alabama State University (4-2, 6-9) Monday, Jan. 25 at 5:30 in the Davey L. Whitney HPR Complex.
