ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Alcorn State University soccer program dropped a 9-3 decision Friday against Mississippi Valley State on the MVSU Soccer Field.
The Lady Braves conclude their season with a 1-11 record and 1-9 mark in conference play.
Viktoriya Mihaylova tallied a goal in the 11
th minute, but the Devilettes (5-8-2, 5-3-2 SWAC) had already struck three times.
MVSU's Laadi Issaka then found the back of the net for the next four scores in the 40
th, 48
th, 53
rd and 55
th minutes. Issaka finished the match with seven goals.
Jade Douglas scored her first career goal in the 62
nd minute. Fellow freshman
Rita Okoro also netted a goal on an assist from
Aliyah Bachelor in the 77
th minute.
Alcorn was outscored 4-1 in the first half and 5-2 in the second. Freshmen
Giselle Rojas and
Taylor Linney recorded three saves each splitting an even 45 minutes between the posts.
