NOTES
- The Braves are looking to beat Blue Mountain for the second straight year after coming out on top 68-60 last season.

- With a win Tuesday, Alcorn would have a .500 overall record after four games for the first time since 2013-14.

- Vance was the only player in the SWAC to register a double-double on opening night as he tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds against Loyola-Chicago. He followed it up with a team-high 19 points against Evansville on Monday.

- Junior Reginal Johnson is coming off back-to-back double-figure scoring games. He neared a double-double against Selma with 14 points and eight rebounds. Johnson has been the team's sixth-man and averages 11.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He's third in the SWAC in field goal percentage with a .593 mark.

- Junior Avery Patterson made his first appearance of the season Friday and shot a red-hot 4-4 from three-point range and registered 14 points.

- Head coach Montez Robinson is in his second season at the helm. He inherited a squad that went 6-26, 4-14 SWAC in 2014-15 and more-than tripled the team's win total last season. Robinson was a finalist for both the 2016 Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year and 2016 Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year awards.

- Robinson coached Alcorn to its first winning SWAC season (13-5) since 2006-07 when it went 10-8. The 13 conference wins were the most since 2001-02 when the Braves finished 20-10, 16-2 SWAC and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

- Vance was named to the Preseason All-Conference Second-Team.  His career-high is 30 points against Grambling State on Feb. 9, 2015. He's also scored at least 24 points two other times.

- Alcorn has already signed a pair of student-athletes to its 2017-18 roster. It added Troymain Crosby, a 6-4 combo guard from Laurel, Mississippi, and Rolando Rodgers, a 6-9 power forward from the British Virgin Islands. Both players will have four years of eligibility at Alcorn.
