Montez Robinson Named Joe B. Hall Award Finalist

Alcorn State University's Montez Robinson has been named a finalist for the 2016 Joe B. Hall National Coach of The Year Award.

The Joe B. Hall award is given annually to one NCAA D-I rookie men's basketball head coach. 

In Robinson's first season as the men's basketball head coach he led Alcorn to a second place finish in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Braves ended their season with an overall record of 15-15 and a 13-5 conference record.  Robinson also recorded Alcorn's first winning season since the Braves went 21-10 in 2002.

The 2016 recipient will be announced Monday, April 4 in Houston, site of the men's NCAA D-I men's basketball championship.
