LORMAN, Miss. –
The Alcorn State University men's basketball program will look to win its second straight on Saturday when it hosts Mississippi Valley State at 5:30 p.m. at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

Saturday is High School Day for basketball against MVSU. High School students receive half off admission with a valid student ID or when wearing a high school T-shirt or apparel that identifies a high school. It is only valid for current high school students.

Alcorn (5-10, 2-2 SWAC) is coming off a 63-50 victory over Jackson State on Wednesday. Senior Marquis Vance hit a clutch three-pointer late in the second half to halt a JSU comeback attempt and scored a team-high 16 points.

Junior Reginal Johnson, the team's "sixth man", leads the Braves with 14.5 points per game. He's shooting .508 from the field and also pulls down 7.6 rebounds per contest. Vance nearly averages a double-double with 11.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Averaging just under double-figures for the Braves, senior Denzel Dulin nets 9.8 points per contest. He's coming off a 14-point outing against Jackson State and has netted at least nine points in every conference game.

MVSU (1-15, 1-2 SWAC) is led by Isaac Williams who scores 12.2 points per game. Marcus Romain averages 13.8 points per outing and shootings .560 from the field, but has only played in six games.

The Delta Devils have not had issues scoring as they average 80.0 points per game as a team in conference. Additionally, they shoot .500 from the field and .462 from three-point range which leads the SWAC.

MVSU is coming off a 73-70 victory over Alabama State after falling to UAPB 105-91 and Alabama A&M 79-76 to start league play.

NOTES
- The Braves are going for their third consecutive win over MVSU after sweeping the season series last year. Alcorn has also won four straight against the Delta Devils at home.

- Alcorn has kept the opposition under 70 points in six straight games including every SWAC contest.

- Freshman Maurice Howard has reached double-figures in two of four conference games. He's Alcorn's top three-point threat with a .367 shooting mark.

- Senior DeAndre Davis returned to the lineup for conference play after missing the previous nine games with a hand injury. He posted 12 points and five rebounds against Texas Southern in his first game back.
