MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Coming off a decisive 82-64 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, the Alcorn State University men's basketball program will kick-off a road weekend on Saturday when it heads to Alabama State for a 5 p.m. affair at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

Alcorn (6-11, 3-3 SWAC) defeated the Golden Lions by using a balanced scoring attack. Four different Braves scored in double-figures including junior A.J. Mosby who flirted with a triple-double with 14 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Junior Reginal Johnson leads the team with 15.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting .527 from the field. He's scored at least 12 points in 15 of the last 16 games, and has pulled down at least five rebounds in 16 of the last 17 contests.

Senior Marquis Vance also nearly averages a double-double with 10.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. He's tallied 62 career double-figure scoring games and nine double-doubles.

The Braves are looking for their second straight road win. They beat Jackson State 63-50 on Jan. 11 after Vance hit a clutch three-pointer late in the second half to flip the momentum back in Alcorn's favor after the Tigers were attempting a comeback.

ASU (4-13, 2-3 SWAC) is coming off a 57-55 road win over rival Alabama A&M. The Hornets also have a 73-69 home win over Grambling, but have fallen to Jackson State 63-60, UAPB 71-63 and MVSU 73-70.

Rodney Simeon leads the team with 10.9 points per game. Tony Armstrong is also a big contributor with 10.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per outing.

The game will feature two of the top rebounding teams in the SWAC. Alcorn leads the league with a +6.8 rebounding margin while Alabama State is third at +3.6. The Braves and the Hornets are the top-two squads in offensive rebounds.

Alcorn will close out the weekend at Alabama A&M at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
