ITTA BENA, Miss. - The Alcorn State University volleyball program finishes its regular season Monday night in a 7 p.m. conference match at Mississippi Valley State's R.W. Harrison Complex.
The Lady Braves are led offensively by junior Singryd Valadares, who owns 228 kills, and by freshman Jasmine Chambers' 490 assists. Freshman Fiapaipai Iosia has served 41 aces with a team-high 523 digs. Valadares is the team's key blocker with 48, followed by junior Alondra Rivera Modesto with 34.

The Devilettes (7-25, 4-11 SWAC) are coming off a straight-set win over Talladega College last Thursday. Taylor Selfridge recorded a 20-dig, 11-kill double-double to lead MVSU. Joilyn Azore contributed nine kills, and Kalin Barnes added eight kills with as many digs. Setter Jaime Polk finished with 35 assists and six digs, a kill, and an ace.
The teams met earlier this season in the first game of a Tri-Match on Oct. 9 in Lorman, Miss. Valadares led the Lady Braves in the 3-0 loss with 11 digs. Chambers added 14 assists and Dixon served a pair of aces. Iosia reached recorded 12 digs and Rivera Modesto registered two blocks to lead Alcorn defensively.
