PINE BLUFF, Ark. –
Coming off a 68-60 win over Mississippi Valley State University, the Alcorn State University women's basketball program will proceed to the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff for a 5:30 p.m. contest Monday at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

Alcorn (8-15, 8-4 SWAC) received a 22-point performance from junior Alexus Freeman. Seniors Tori Spann (13) and Brianna Luton (10) were also double-digit scorers. The Lady Braves bench outperformed the Devilettes by a 22-1 margin.

Alcorn shot 50 percent from the floor and has now won all four contests under head coach Courtney Pruitt when the team shoots 50 percent or better.

The Lady Braves also limited MVSU to just 1-of-9 from beyond the arc.

UAPB (10-13, 7-5 SWAC) has won its four most recent contests, earning victories over Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Jackson State and Southern.

Lady Lions guard Destiny Brewton (3.6) ranks right behind Alexus Freeman (3.8) in assists per contest.

Alcorn boasted a 51-42 advantage in rebounds during its 70-48 win over UAPB earlier this season at the Whitney Complex.
