LORMAN, Miss. – Sizzling on a nine-game winning-streak, the Alcorn State University men's basketball program can clinch a top-four seed with a victory Monday when it hosts Alabama State at 7 p.m. at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

The top-four seeds will host a first round game in the 2017 SWAC Championships.

Monday is Alcorn Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night which includes free admission for all faculty and staffers when they present their ID. There will also be an opportunity to win an Alcorn themed gift basket.

The Braves (14-11, 11-3 SWAC) are looking to sweep the Bulldogs (1-23, 1-12 SWAC) for the second year in a row. Alcorn won the first meeting 81-70 this year as senior
Denzel Dulin scored a team-high 17 points. Last year, Alcorn won 63-58 at home and 62-58 on the road.

Junior
Reginal Johnson leads the team with 15.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting .537 from the field. He's scored at least 12 points in 23 of the last 24 games. Johnson has scored at least 20 points four times this season including outings of 28 and 27 in two games against MVSU.

Marquis Vance also nearly averages a double-double with 11.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. He's coming off a season-high 27 points against Alabama State.

The Bulldogs have dropped a ton of hard-fought games this year including a triple overtime 97-89 defeat at Alabama State last weekend. Their lone win came at Mississippi Valley State 79-76.

Quinterian McConico averages team-bests of 14.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. De'Ederick Petty also scores in double-figures with 12.1 points per outing.

As a team, AAMU is top-three in the league in assist:turnover ratio with a 0.9 mark.

Alcorn is riding nine-game winning-streak which is its longest since 1998-99 when it won 12 consecutive contests.

- The Braves are one of 10 teams in the nation to have a nine-game winning spurt. The Braves also have the seventh longest active road winning-streak in the country at five games.

Vance ranks top-10 in the league in rebounding, blocks and assists.

A.J. Mosby is shooting 13-for-22 (.591) from three-point range over the last four games and averages 9.9 points per game on the season. He's tallied six double-figure scoring games in his last seven outings. He's the only Brave to start in every game this year and also the only one to play 40 minutes in a contest. Mosby leads the team with a .389 three-point field goal percentage.

- Dulin puts in 9.5 points per affair. He's registered at least eight points in 11 of 15 conference games and is coming off an 11-point outing against ASU. Dulin netted a 17-point performance at AAMU. He scored a career-high 20 points at Colorado State on Nov. 27.

DeAndre Davis has scored seven double-figure scoring games in his last nine outings including a season-high 20 points at UAPB. Davis is shooting .593 from the field in league games which ranks fourth. He's also top-10 in rebounding.

Maurice Howard is shooting a team-best .821 from the free throw line. He's second on the team in three-point percentage with a .373 mark.
