HAMMOND, La. – A hot-hitting Southeastern Louisiana squad ended on the front end of a 21-3 decision over the Alcorn State University baseball program in seven innings Tuesday at Pat Kenelly Diamond.

The Braves (10-26, 6-12 SWAC) scored all of their runs in the first inning to jump in front 3-0. It came via a three-run bomb to left field by senior
Jason Sanez. It was his second homer of the season and Alcorn's 13th as a team.

The dinger scored junior
Wallace Rios Jimenez who started the game with a walk. It extended his on-base streak to 33 contests.

The homer also plated senior
Walter Vives who knocked two hits in the affair. It marked his 12th multi-hit game of the year which ties Rios for a team-high.

SLU (25-15, 12-9 SLC) took control with eight runs in the first and five more in the second to lead 13-3. The Lions took advantage of five errors by the Braves in the game.

Senior
Regynold Johnson got the start for Alcorn and gave up eight runs, but only two were earned. Sophomores
Devon Key and
Joe Smith made appearances out of the bullpen.

The Braves will resume conference play this weekend in a three-game series at AAMU. Game one is slated for 3 p.m. Friday.
