Alcorn Cancels Games against UAPB

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Alcorn State University and University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff baseball programs agreed to cancel their two remaining games against each other due to final exams.

The schools were originally scheduled to play a pair non-conference games, home and away. UAPB was going to host on May 2, and Alcorn on Wednesday, May 10.

"We've got finals this week and they've got finals next week so we made the decision to cancel the games," said Alcorn head coach Bretton Richardson.

Alcorn will close out the regular season this weekend with a conference series against Alabama State at home. Game one is slated for 6 p.m. Friday. Sunday's 1 p.m. contest is Senior Day.

The Braves have already clinched a berth to the 2017 SWAC Championships on May 17-21 in New Orleans at Wesley Barrow Stadium.
