PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – With the 36th pick in the 2018 NBA G-League Draft, the Northern Arizona Suns selected former Alcorn State University men's basketball standout
A.J. Mosby to a professional contract.

Mosby left his home in Carterville, Georgia on Sunday morning to arrive for the team's first practice Monday.

Montez Robinson. "This is a great opportunity for him and his family as he continues to represent our University and make everyone proud."

Mosby was a 2017-18 HBCU All-America Second-Team honoree. He led Alcorn last year in scoring, assists, steals, three-point percentage and field goal percentage.

As the only Brave to start every game last season, Mosby ranked first in the SWAC in both assist:turnover ratio and free throw percentage. He netted 27 double-figure scoring games including six 20-plus outings.

On the year, Mosby averaged 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in 32.2 minutes per outing with a 1.9 assist:turnover ratio. He shot .400 from beyond-the-arc which ranks third all-time in single-season history, and .866 from the free throw line which ranks second in the school's single-season record book.

Mosby's career-high came at Grambling State when he registered 28 points to go along with eight rebounds. He dished out a career-high nine assists against Texas Southern at home and scored 10 points.

To cap off his collegiate career, Mosby was a member of Team SWAC in the inaugural Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship and helped the team reach the final four out of 32 conferences.
