LORMAN, Miss. – Kicking off a five-game home-stand, the Alcorn State University soccer program will host Howard at noon Sunday at Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium.

The game was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. but was pushed forward an hour to help accommodate for Howard's flight home.

The Lady Braves (0-9, 0-4 SWAC) are looking to overcome a series of injuries that have left them shorthanded this season. The team has scored three goals including two from senior
Yaira Guardado and one from freshman
Johanna Seelhorst.

Guardado and freshman defender Shalisa King are the only Lady Braves to start in all nine matches this year. Guardado has logged a team-high 798 minutes, while King, a central defender, is second with 744.

The Bison (4-6-1, 2-1-1 SWAC) are coming off wins over Grambling State 1-0 and Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3-0. Makela Davidson leads the team with three goals this year, while Jordan Taylor, Aleeya Sawyer and Jasmin Miller have each scored twice.

It's the fifth meeting all-time between the two programs and Alcorn is looking for it's first-ever win in the series.
