LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University women's basketball program will host Southeastern Louisiana at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

The Lady Braves (0-2) are looking to bounce back from a 77-51 defeat at UTEP. Alcorn forced 27 turnovers in the contest and held an advantage of 14-3 in steals. Junior
Jada Hargrove notched 10 points, four assists and three steals.

Alcorn dropped its season-opener, but junior
Toddriana Isler shined with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Hargrove turned in an all-around effort with 11 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Through two games, Isler leads the Lady Braves with 13 points and 7.5 rebounds per outing. Hargrove also averages in double-figures with 10.5 points and 4.5 assists per game. Junior
Charisma Walker puts up 8.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per match.

The Lady Braves are playing with a new line-up this year after bringing in eight newcomers. They brought back two starters and four letterwinners from last season.

SLU (1-1) fell at Alabama 88-40 to open the season, but responded with a 70-57 victory over Mobile for its home-opener Monday. The Lady Lions brought back 10 letterwinners from a team that finished 8-21 overall and 7-11 in the Southland Conference last year.

SLU's scoring this year has been evenly dispersed as Charliee Dugas and Celica Sterling scored 9.5 points per game. Caitlyn Williams is also a big contributor with 7.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per outing.

- The Lady Braves are looking to take down Southeastern Louisiana for the second year in a row. Last season, Alcorn won 84-77 in overtime. Junior

- Alcorn was predicted to finish eighth in the SWAC Preseason Poll. The Lady Braves ended in sixth in the standings last year.

De'Asia Brown is the lone senior on the team. She was a significant contributor off the bench last year and registered four double-figure scoring games. Brown netted a career-high 15 points at Jackson State on Feb. 3, 2018.

- Alcorn gets back redshirt-sophomore
Aysha Kirkland who missed last season due to injury. Kirkland logged 552 minutes and made four starts as a freshman in 2016-17.
