LORMAN, Miss. – Playing its first game in eight days, the Alcorn State University women's basketball program returns to the floor Wednesday when it hosts Central Arkansas at 5:30 p.m. at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

De'Asia Brown leads Alcorn (0-4) with 12.0 points per game and has caught fire as of late. In her last two games, she scored a career-high 19 points against Southeastern Louisiana and 16 points vs. Northwestern State. She was 5-7 from three in those games. Brown ranks top-10 in the conference in scoring.

Also averaging in double-figures, junior
Toddriana Isler has played a big role with 10.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per outing. She opened the season with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, and notched 12 points and eight rebounds against NSU.

Charisma Walker is the team's leading rebounder with 7.3 per game which ranks second in the SWAC. Walker is also seventh in the league in blocks with 1.0 per outing. She's pulled down at least five rebounds in every game and averages 7.5 points per contest.

Jada Hargrove has been a workhorse so far for the Lady Braves, logging 33.3 minutes per game which is the third-most in the SWAC. She ranks second in the league in free throw percentage (.833) and sixth in assists (4.3 apg). Hargrove has scored at least 10 points in three of four games this year.

The Lady Braves went toe-to-toe with NSU in their last outing. They trailed by just four points with two minutes left when the Lady Demons ended the game on a 9-0 run. The closely contested match featured six ties and eight lead changes. Alcorn out-rebounded NSU 49-39 including a 21-11 edge in offensive boards.

NSU plays in the same league as UCA (2-2) in the Southland Conference. The Sugar Bears have wins this year over Central Baptist 55-34 and Hendrix College 74-40. They fell to Jackson State 65-56 and South Alabama 58-50.

UCA finished 25-10 overall and 14-4 SLC last season. Kamry Orr currently leads the squad with 10.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

NOTES
- Alcorn is looking for its first-ever win against Central Arkansas. It is the ninth meeting between the two programs.

- As a team, the Lady Braves rank second in the SWAC in steals with 12.3 per game. Hargrove has a team-high nine steals, while Isler has eight.

- Alcorn has been bit by injuries so far this season. Against Southeastern Louisiana, the Lady Braves only had eight student-athletes in uniform. They've been without sophomore post-player
Jamaysha Bernard who was one of two returning starters this season.

- Alcorn was predicted to finish eighth in the SWAC Preseason Poll. The Lady Braves ended in sixth in the standings last year.
