Lady Braves Look to Hand Undefeated Rust College its First Loss

LORMAN, Miss. – A 10-0 program will enter the Davey L. Whitney Complex on Monday evening as the Alcorn State University women's basketball team looks to break-up Rust College's undefeated season at 5:30 p.m.
 
Alcorn (1-7) will look to win its second straight home game. The Lady Braves posted a 67-64 victory over Fisk University on Saturday. Both junior Toddriana Isler and Charisma Walker recorded double-doubles. Alcorn outrebounded Fisk 57-40.
 
The Lady Braves lead the SWAC in offensive rebounding with 14.6 per game. Individually, junior Charisma Walker ranks second in the conference in total rebounds with 7.6 per game. Junior Diamond Hall is top-five with 6.8 rebounds per outing.
 
Senior De'Asia Brown leads Alcorn in scoring with 11.0 points per game. She's coming off three consecutive games of at least 12 points. Brown had a two-game stretch where she went 5-7 3FG with a career-high 19 points against Southeastern Louisiana and 16 points vs. Northwestern State.
 
Isler also averages in double-figures with 10.9 points per game and also secures 6.8 rebounds per match. Isler has three double-doubles on the year including 14 points and 12 rebounds against Central Arkansas. She opened the year with a career-high 18 points to go along with 12 rebounds against Lane College.
 
Junior Jada Hargrove has been a workhorse for the Lady Braves, logging a 35.0 minutes per game. She's played 40 minutes twice. Hargrove also ranks top-five in the conference in free throw percentage (.750), steals (2.3 spg) and assists (4.1 apg). She scores 8.6 points per game.
 
Rust (10-0) has won nine of its 10 games by double-figures. The only close contest was a 72-66 overtime win over Stillman College. The Bearcats are coming off an 83-45 victory over Crowley's Ridge.
 
Keimeshia Walker has been the team's star with 23.7 points per game. She shoots .426 from three-point range and .814 from the free throw line. Katie Blackmon is also a big contributor with 11.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
 
The Lady Braves will be Rust's first Division I opponent.
 
Alcorn is 4-0 all-time against Rust, but the two programs haven't played since 1980-81.
