Alcorn (9-17, 5-8 SWAC) defeated MVSU 94-90 in overtime to complete the season-sweep over the Delta Devils last Saturday, and followed it up with a big 84-52 victory over UAPB to knock the Golden Lions out of first-place Monday. The Braves shot over 50 percent from long-range in both games.

Alcorn beat both AAMU (2-21, 2-10 SWAC) and ASU (6-18, 6-6 SWAC) by double-figures in the first meetings this year at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

Senior A.J. Mosby registered a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds vs. AAMU, and 19 points against ASU. Junior Dante Sterling recorded 20 points against the Bulldogs which was a career-high at the time. Sterling upped it this past weekend with 29 points against the Delta Devils.

Mosby is coming off three consecutive games of at least 20 points scoring. He leads Alcorn in points, assists, steals, three-point and free throw percentage. Mosby averages 14.6 points per game on the year and 16.1 in conference.

The Bulldogs are looking to snap a seven-game skid. However, they do hold a 71-64 win this year against the first-place team in the standings Grambling State on the road 71-64. Arthur Johnson leads the team with 10.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
