Lady Braves Prep for Home Weekend against LSUA, North Dakota

LORMAN, Miss. – In its final tune-up matches before conference play, the Alcorn State University soccer program will host LSU-Alexandria at 4 p.m. Friday and South Dakota at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium.

Alcorn (0-3) had its match last weekend against Louisiana Tech rained out. The Lady Braves were able to get 41 minutes of game time in before lightning delays occurred and eventually canceled the game. LA Tech led 4-0 at the time.

Senior captain Yaira Guardado has guided the team offensively with a goal and eight shots on the year. Half of her shots have been on goal. Junior Anjelica Dugan and freshman Johanna Seelhort have fired five shots a piece.

Sophomore Kameran Proby has seen the majority of action in goal and has made 22 saves on the year.

LSUA (0-2-1) is coming off a 2-2 tie against Evangel last weekend. McKay Leos, Kayleigh Lambrechts and Zarah Arnaud have each scored goals for the Generals this year.

UND (4-1-1) will take on Grambling State on Friday before heading to Lorman. The Fighting Hawks have wins this season over Nicholls State 3-0, Southern 4-0, Idaho 1-0 and Minnesota Duluth 3-0. Katie Moller has been explosive offensively with six goals in six games.

This weekend marks Alcorn's first-ever meetings against LSUA and UND.
