LORMAN, Miss. – With just over four minutes remaining in the opening half, Friday's match between the Alcorn State University soccer program and Louisiana Tech was halted due to repeated lightning strikes in the area.
The teams waited three hours to resume play but lightning remained within a 10-mile radius. In order for a game to be counted as official, at least 70 minutes must be played. The game will not be rescheduled.
Next up for the Lady Braves is a 4 p.m. home game against LSU-Alexandria next Friday, Sept. 14.
