LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University women's basketball program will look to continue its historic winning ways against Mississippi Valley State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff when it hosts the Delta Devilettes at 3 p.m. Saturday and the Golden Lions at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.
Alcorn (2-14, 1-3 SWAC) has won seven of the last eight meetings against Mississippi Valley State (3-11, 2-1 SWAC). The Lady Braves are 6-1 against the Delta Devils under head coach

Alcorn swept the season series over UAPB (3-7, 0-3 SWAC) last year including a 76-58 win at home. The Lady Braves are 4-2 against the Golden Lions under Pruitt.
The Lady Braves are coming off a tight 61-56 defeat to Grambling State. Alcorn went on a 10-0 run in the third quarter and led by seventh heading into the fourth before the Lady Tigers mounted a comeback. Senior
De'Asia Brown matched her career-high with 19 points.
Alcorn leads the SWAC in offensive rebounding with 16.3 per game. Individually, junior
Diamond Hall ranks third in the league with 2.9 offensive rebounds per outing.
Brown leads the team with 11.4 points per game on the year including 16.8 points per conference match where she's started to heat up. She's scored at least 14 points in all four conference games. In non-conference, Brown had a two-game stretch where she went 5-7 3FG with 19 points against Southeastern Louisiana and 16 points vs. Northwestern State.
Just under double-figures is Walker with 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. She's primarily been used off the bench but has given good production both in scoring and rebounding.
Junior
Jada Hargrove has been a workhorse for the Lady Braves, logging 34.3 minutes per game. She's played 40 minutes three times. Hargrove also ranks second in the conference in steals (2.7 spg). In conference, she's averaging 11.3 points per game. She was named to the FIU All-Tournament Team for her standout performances against the host Panthers and New Mexico State.
The Lady Braves have been bit by injuries all year. Most recently, they lost their starting post player, junior
Toddriana Isler, who went down against TSU. Isler had started all 13 games previously and averaged 8.8 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game with three double-doubles.
MVSU is off to a 2-1 start in conference with wins over UAPB 62-56 and Alabama State 64-62. Its only loss was to Alabama A&M 80-60. The Delta Devilettes have a non-conference win over Austin Peay 95-89. LaKendra Bassett leads the team with 11.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per outing.
UAPB fell to MVSU before dropping a close 58-56 decision against ASU. The Golden Lions are looking for their first road win and also first victory over a Division I school. Shawntayla Harris has been a presence inside with 9.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, and 20 blocks on the year.
