LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University women's soccer program will finish up its regular season road schedule this weekend when it heads to Jackson and Baton Rouge to take on the Tigers and Jaguars.
Alcorn reclaimed the NCAA's top spot in saves per game as freshman
Kali Helms and senior
Giselle Rojas have combined for 11.69 per match through 13 contests while the offense has been accurate with the fifth-best shot accuracy rate in the country at .576.
Helms has continued to roll right along as a  top-five goalkeeper this season, placing second nationally in saves per game (9.58) and fourth for total saves (115).
The goalie from New Caney, Texas sits fourth on the program's single season saves list going into the weekend, trailing Elaine Opusunju by four for third place.

Christina Grybos and junior
Anouchka Berthelot have all tallied one so far with Gonzalez accounting for the team's lone two assists.
Gonzalez has three assists for her career to tie her for fourth on the all-time leaderboard. The forward from Los Angeles, California also places seventh in program history with 11 career points as she's tied for the squad with four.

Gemma Dunn have two while Berthelot's lone shot on goal resulted in points for the purple and gold.

Scouting the Jackson State Tigers (Wednesday, October 30 at 3 p.m.)
The Tigers are 4-11 on the campaign but all of their wins have come in the conference as they hold an above .500 mark (4-3) in the SWAC to go along with a current three-game winning streak, all shutouts.
JSU has been nearly as accurate on its shot attempts as the Lady Braves, ranking eighth in the nation with 52 of 91 being on goal (.571).
Megan Howell and Preseason All-SWAC First Teamer Jalah Carter are the team's two top scorers, putting two each in the back of the net. Three different Tigers have notched an assist with Howell topping the navy and gray in points at five.
Thea Ebbe Brich is Jackson State's primary netminder with 49 saves and a .592 save percentage. Backup Bianca Clemente has seen significant time as well, logging nearly 400 minutes between the pipes while saving just short of 70 percent of her chances.
Alcorn has never defeated the Tigers as the Lady Braves are currently 0-23 all-time against their rivals from Jackson.

Scouting the Southern Jaguars (Sunday, October 26 at 1 p.m.)
Southern comes into the weekend at 2-10-1 and a 1-5-1 SWAC record. Its wins have come against Nicholls (2-1) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2-1) while tying Texas Southern (1-1).
The Jaguars have Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year Chioma Eriken and Preseason All-SWAC Second Teamer Lauryen McKinney on their side. Eriken is seventh in the league with 4.15 saves per game and eighth in total saves at 54.
Southern leads the all-time series 16-4-1 with Alcorn's last win coming on October 24 in Baton Rouge as the purple and gold took home a 3-2 victory.
