LORMAN, Miss. – Four seniors will be honored Saturday as the Alcorn State University men's basketball program hosts Alabama State at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 7:30 game Monday against Alabama A&M at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.

It will be the final home appearances for seniors Khari Jabriel Allen, Harold Givens, Reginal Johnson and TyQuaylon Smith. Allen and Givens played two seasons at Alcorn, Smith four years and Johnson five after redshirting in 2017-18.

He's already broken his own single-season school record in three-pointers made in a season with 79. It topped the 74 he made last year. Howard had the third longest active streak in the nation of making at least one three-pointer in a game. He did it for 39 straight games, but ended it at MVSU on Feb. 16, 2019.

Howard logs 35.9 minutes per game - also most in the league - and has played 40 minutes eight times. He averages a team-high 13.4 points per outing and is 32-for-34 (.941) from the free throw line. In a 76-64 victory over Southern, Howard netted a career-high 27 points and was 7-for-11 from long-range.

Junior Devon Brewer is the team's leading rebounder, averaging 6.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per outing. He ranks third in the league with 1.3 blocks per match.

The Hornets (10-13, 8-4 SWAC) have won back-to-back games by defeating MVSU 82-59 and AAMU 68-62. They have two of the league's top-five leading scorers in Reginald Gee (14.3 ppg) and Jacoby Ross (13.3 ppg). Alabama State won the first meeting this year 74-59.

The Bulldogs (5-21, 4-8 SWAC) are looking to snap a two-game skid after falling to UAPB 69-60 and ASU. Andre Kennedy averages team-highs of 11.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Brandon Miller leads the conference in assist:turnover ratio with a 1.7 mark. AAMU won the first meeting this year 72-61.
