LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University women's soccer program concludes its nonconference portion of the schedule this weekend when the Nicholls Colonels and Green Bay Phoenix make a visit to Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium.
The purple and gold are the best in the country in saves per game (13.00) as freshman
Kali Helms (28 saves) and senior
Giselle Rojas (23 saves) are both top-eight among their SWAC peers for total saves.
Rojas' 154 career saves currently puts her only seven away from becoming Alcorn's all-time career goalkeeper saves leader. The current record holder is Qunitiya Miller who stopped 170 shots from 2003 to 2006.

Anjelica Dugan have all recorded a shot in four matches while Dugan's attempt was a shot on goal.
Scouting the Nicholls Colonels (Friday, September 13 at 4 p.m.)
In its five matches to open the campaign, the Colonels have played four SWAC opponents and Louisiana-Lafayette going 2-1-1 against the SWAC and dropping its contest to ULL.
Nicholls has been led a steady attack on the offensive front, placing top-50 in the NCAA for scoring offense (2.40), shot accuracy (.540), shots per game (17.40), shots on goal per game (9.40) and total goals (12) to go along with placing top-three in the Southland for assists per game (1.60) and leading the conference with a 0.957 goals-against average.
Forward Blaire Laiche has been the catalyst for the red and gray, ranking among the top-third in the Southland Conference in regard to goals per game (0.80), points per game (1.60), shot accuracy (.643), shots on goal per game (1.80), goals (4) and points (8).
Laiche earned Conference Offensive Player of the Week on September 4 when she had the program's first hat trick since 2016 in a 5-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Alcorn and Nicholls have battled eight times with the Colonels holding a 7-1 edge over the Lady Braves. The last meeting took place in last season when the red and gray won 6-0.
Scouting the Green Bay Phoenix (Sunday, September 15 at 1 p.m.)
Green Bay is an even 3-3 on the season coming into the weekend with wins over Chicago State, UC Davis and Valparaiso along with defeats to Northern State, Saint Mary's (Calif.) and #16 Wisconsin.
The Phoenix have been spectacular on the defensive end, placing second in the Horizon League for goals-against average (0.661) and third for save percentage (.818).
Courtney Klatt is the primary goalie for UWGB, ranking among the top half of the conference in goals against average (0.599), save percentage (.800) and shutouts (3).
Caitlyn Hawley has been the team's clutch go-to performer in key situations as she's already booted game-winning goals in two of the team's victories in 2019.
This will be the first ever meeting in women's soccer between the Lady Braves and Phoenix.
